I'm Had a problem with opiates, really bad. I was a seller and a user. I haven't drank or use any drugs in over 2.5 years. I have been to meetings and people are like "i'm clean and sober and then they say they been on suboxone for the last 5 years." To me a former user, Your not clean and sober if your on somethin.. I do believe subs and methadone is a better alternative. To me thatz what it is an alternative that is over prescribed and your hooked on it. You can't just stop taking it or you'll be sicker then you were from the dope. Also i know people that abuse subs and methadone just like other drugs. I'm clean and sober the only thang that i ingest that is bad is coffee and an occasional cig~ You doing subs and metadone and saying your clean is an insult to people like me that are actually clean. Maybe try saying i'm off the dope and taking a substitute that may be worse if not just as bad~

@Blaze1 I'm not going to quit. It relieves my pain, and that's what I EXPECT it to do. If you were using it recreationally, then I understand why you quit. Good for you.

@1FRAC1 I'm taking magnesium, and calcium, 50,000 units of vitamin D a week, and make my own bone broth, and "Nut Butter" with walnuts, and olive oil. I grow, and prepare most of my food, and take a lot of supplements. I've been doing this for about 15 years. But I'm running down! LOL! I can feel my body winding down, like a clock that hasn't been wound up. But it's ok. We do the best we can, then go where life takes us.

If your not abusing a drug, the drug is usually safe. Its when you start abusing it it becomes an issue. If it helps you you have a right to take it wehter sh*t is illegal or legal in your case~~

Well, I have fibromyalgia and gabapentin makes me crazy (super hyper manic whackadoodledoo, I eat too much, and I lost 1/3 of my hair, lol), and I am deathly allergic to NSAIDs, so they give me tramadol, but it’s very frustrating because some doctors think it’s an opioid (it’s a synthetic opioid, I think) and are really big a***oles about prescribing it, and others are very happy to prescribe it instead of say, Tylenol 3. It just depends which doctor and which town I happen to be in (I’ve lived in three neighboring communities over the last 12 years). I don’t take it in the warm months because I feel better and make myself muddle through them, but the winters and our rainy months here are very hard. So frustrating. If you have pain, and it’s endless and debilitating (I have been on LTD for over 10 years), what are you supposed to do? I will never take an anti depressant again...now THOSE are terrifying to try to come off of. But, of course, there’s no stigma about those. Hmmm.

@ditzygypsy Taking pain meds are fine.. Anti depr. are horrible, thank god never need those~ My comment is only meant for drug addiction not for the one that actually need it. Tramadol is completely harmless and the T3's are only bad because of the Tylenol in them not the codeine.
