@๐“œ๐“ธ๐“พ๐“ผ๐“ฎ*๐Ÿญ and to Frac as well ... I figure music's one area where lots of dissimilarities amongst folks kinda melts away, which is just ONE of the reasons I started this thread.

Way back from '74, my all time favorite synthesized rock band Emerson, Lake and Palmer.

Even then they saw the coming and eventual ending of man vs AI

Man:
"Rejoice, glory is ours,
Our young men have not died in vain,
Their graves need no flowers
The tapes have recorded their names

I am all there is"

Computer: "Negative, primitive, limited
I let you live."

Man: "But I gave you life!"

Computer: "What else could you do?"

Man: "To do what was right!"

Computer: "I'm perfect, are you?"

@mrkim56 On one of my late 70's magic mushroom picking excursions, I forgot my tape case at home. The only tape I had was the one in the deck. Emerson, Lake and Palmer's Brain Salad Surgery. It was the only one we needed. smiley
It was a great trip.

@Bread&Circuses Uh, speakin of great trippin music ... I spent more than a few nights groovin to this one by Robin Trower while cruisin the back roads in my buddys ol 66 'Stang in those days

www.youtube.com/watch?v=1e_xK35C...

+1

@mrkim56 Indeed. When i was 19, I had three Mustangs, all fastbacks and 4 speeds. A '65 2+2, '67 GT Fastback, '70 Fastback with the shaker hood. Those were the days. smiley

0

@Bread&Circuses again, I am SOOOOOO jealous!

First off, yeah, no other single album could produce a finer trip!

Tocatta and Jerusalem would be intense but Karn Evil# 9 the Third Impression, MIND BLOWING!!

But, I've been wanting to do shrooms for 40+ years now and have never come across any.

Was even talkin to a neighbor just the other day and even here in cattle country where we've had tons of rain he says he haddn seen any.

I can guarantee if I find any, I'm doin 'em!

Haddn tripped in over 20yrs but I would definitely make an exception for shrooms

+1

@mrkim56 The Marysville exit off the 405 just north of Seattle . . . or so it was 40 years ago. Always there, under the power lines. My trippin' days are over. I did enough drugs in the twentieth century to last my time in the twenty-first.

0

@Bread&Circuses I hear ya man, I really only smoke any more and even that's been severely curtailed by the need for gainful employment, sheesh.

Did plenty of playin around in the 70s with 2 caveats, I never tried heroin (scared I'd like it too much) and I never used a needle.

Neil Young's verses were taken to heart www.youtube.com/watch?v=49M10VIX...

@Bread&Circuses Great choice indeed!

Ever seen the album version of their Fandango album?

The inside of the album has a panoramic pic of the stadium and crowd from their 1974 ZZ Top's First Annual Texas Size Rompin' Stompin' Barn Dance and Bar B Q concert at the football stadium at Texas University in Austin.

texasarchive.org/2013_02397

Somewhere in the middle of that pic are myself and the 2 buddies of mine that made the trek from Duncanville to Austin for the show.

It featured Bad Company featuring Jimmy Page, Santana, Joe Cocker and of course ZZ Top.

It was a wild concert to say the least but the Austin cops were cool and stayed under the bleachers and never entered the actual crowd inside the stadium.

There were even some enterprising souls who even set up an impromptu booth and were hawking their wares, yellin "Acid, Mescaline, right here!"

@mrkim56 Casandra Wilson I'm not familiar with. Something to do this evening, apparently. Thanks for starting this, by the way. I've gotten introduced to a variety of new artists and music.

@TRCIII She was on a blues compendium I came across put together by Martin Scorsese of all people.

More than welcome man and that's really the point for a variety of folks to share their tunes and by virtue of doin so we ALL find new stuff to appreciate.

'Sides, I love sharin my own faves and off beat collection too.

This fall I'm plannin a big birthday party bash where I'll be playin VJ in between the grazin and unabashed rum consumption. If you get a chance to slide outta town for the weekend, you as well as anyone else here would all be welcome to come have some fun!
