Minneapolis City Council Hires Private Security After Voting to Disband Police Force - Total Conservative News

The Democrats who sit on the Minneapolis City Council are already guilty of astounding cowardice and stupidity in their capitulation to Black Lives Matter’s demands that the city should defund and disband the police department. Now, however, they can add rank hypocrisy to their catalogue of moral sins. This week, it was reported by Fox News that several City Council members have received death threats for their idiotic decision to get rid of law enforcement. Their response: To hire private security at a cost of $4,500 a day to the taxpayers.

From Fox News:

One council member told Fox 9: “I don’t feel comfortable publicly discussing the death threats against me or the level of security I currently have protecting me from those threats.”

They noted that the security detail was temporary.

But another council member told the outlet they had been worried about security since they were sworn in.

“My concern is the large number of white nationalist[s] in our city and other threatening communications I’ve been receiving,” they said.

The Minneapolis Police Department, which would traditionally provide security in this scenario, could not be reached by Fox News but told Fox 9 that the MPD does not have any records of recent threats against the three council members — adding that it was possible the record could have been filed confidentially.

“Council members have reported to staff numerous threats to themselves personally,” the city told Fox News Saturday.

Come to think of it, maybe it’s not right to call this hypocrisy. Maybe it would be more hypocritical to call the very same police they’re trying to abolish. But even if we give them a pass by the clinical definition of hypocrisy, what can you say about moving to eliminate public law enforcement while availing yourself of expensive private security forces that your average citizen cannot afford? Hell, the councilmembers themselves can’t afford it, which is why they’re passing the costs on to the taxpayers. Here we thought Democrats were supposed to be opposed to privatization of public services!

“This security service was intended to be temporary and a bridge to other security measures implemented by council members themselves,” a city spokesperson said.

Uh-huh. What does that mean? They’re going to buy themselves guns? Thought Democrats were supposed to be against that as well…

Well, the current racial panic gripping America is exposing quite a lot about which central party tenets Democrats are ready to throw overboard in the hopes of appeasing the mob. But then, like we’ve said for a while now, once you surrender on the idea that a man is a man and a woman is a woman, the sky’s the limit when it comes to the weirdness you’ll buy into. We’re sure there will soon come a day when we’ll look back at “defund the police” as a sensible proposal compared to what’s coming next.

If the residents can't have police protection then they can't have security.

@FemaleLotRfan83 It isn't about the voters and tax payers, it is the A-Holes that were elected to represent the fools who put them there... SMH

@oldshuntr Yet the residents keep voting in these A holes.

@FemaleLotRfan83 Yeah, I never have understood how a person gets a job as a weather forecaster either....
