Cuties Backlash Actually Caused A Bunch Of People To Cancel Netflix - CINEMABLEND

www.cinemablend.com/news/2554882/...
A little less than a month ago, Netflix found itself in hot water after releasing a promotional poster for the movie Cuties (also titled Mignonnes), which is about a young girl who joins a group of dancers at school known as “The Cuties.” The film has been criticized for its sexualized portrayal of children, and now, after a social media campaign on Twitter with #CancelNetflix, it looks like a bunch of people followed through and canceled their Netflix subscriptions.

Perhaps now Netflix won't include movies that exploit kids or something like that.

whether or not the content is consider right or wrong, also ask yourself is it an accurate portrayal of everyday life. the debate of children dressing, acting, or doing things they see adults do is not a new debate. and children pageants as well as adult ones have been under fire for decades as well. dont forget in this modern woke time of music and videos how generic and commonplace lyrics and videos promote stuff like this.......... so for all of a sudden people want to complain about a movie that pretty much highlights the current everyday norm is very hypocritical. everyone is so concerned with their rights and all the freedoms they say they have, that no one can question or call out such behaviors as wrong; no they get attacked for saying anything about how children are raised. the words wholesome and innocent havent existed in alot of kids live for a very long time and those kids raised that way with questionable morals and ethics are now parents and possible grandparents that right there tells you the deterioration has been going on and escalating for 40 years or more. ...

@JudgePestilence And do you know who has perpetrated this increasing "deterioration" of morals and behaviours upon the world since the 1960's, who has openly encouraged the increasing sexualisation of kids of all ages particularly in music and film, who has been taking advantage of that increasing sexualisation of kids to justify their own perverted desires, or the perverted desires of other politically like-minded people?

FACT: It was the political left that did this to the world with their creeping culture of 'political correctness', literally everything you described is a classic example of PC culture's real purpose which is to silence dissent and to erode any ideals of truly free speech by instilling a sense of fear in a population of at least being labelled with some negative label, or in the worst case being accused and even prosecuted for bigotry of some kind or other, all the while allowing for other people to carry out disgusting/questionable/evil acts without fear of being called out for their actions.

@Lurkio Ted Haggard (caught in a gay sex scandal in 2006), Jim Bakker (sexual abuse and fraud), Bill Gothard ("more than 30 women accused Gothard of molestation and assault, including underage girls. The allegations included sexual harassment, inappropriate touching, molestation, and rape"), Tony Alamo ("sexual abuse, transporting underage girls across state lines for sexual purposes, pedophilia, marrying an eight-year-old girl, and child rape"), Bob Coy ("in 2014 he admitted to multiple affairs and a pornography addiction".... "In November 2017, Coy was accused of molesting a child, beginning when she was four years old and continuing into her teenage years"), Dave Reynolds ("In 2016, Reynolds was charged with 70 counts of possessing or viewing child pornography, a felony charge"), Doug Phillips ("In 2013, Phillips was forced to resign after being publicly accused of sexual abuse and assault against a woman he met when she was only 15 years old. Several years later, Phillips had moved the woman into his house as his nanny."), Jimmy Swaggart ("he teamed up with Reverend Jerry Falwell, Reverend James Robison, and Reverend Pat Robertson to use the Christian Right to shape the Republican party. Satan's agents are everywhere, according to Swaggart, and include feminists, Democrats, and rock musicians"....."it became public that he was cheating on his wife with a New Orleans prostitute. Not only that, Swaggart was an avid consumer of porn and experimented with BDSM, all while condemning such "immoral" acts."), Mike Hintz ("youth counselor at the First Assembly of God"...."fired for having sex with a minor").

@RiverTam Well done for almost completely missing the point.

Certainly there are people from all walks of life and from all points across the political spectrum who have committed highly questionable or even straight-up illegal acts since the dawn of time, for which they ALL quite rightly deserve(d) to be appropriately dealt with.

But the simple fact remains that the increasingly fast-paced erosion of societal norms, and moral values, over the past few decades in particular, and especially with regard to the increasing sexualisation of children in our modern global and supposedly civilised society, all directly stems from the proliferation of PC culture over a period of several decades, which culture is categorically and undeniably a left-wing creation as previously described above.

So honestly, you can name and shame as many high profile folks from all walks of life and from whichever political ideology as you like, and good on you for researching and listing them, but that doesn't in any way change the ultimate fact that the left-wing culture of political correctness is not only directly responsible for some of the absolute worst crimes against civilised society in the last 60+ years, but it equally directly allowed the perpetrators of those crimes to go unchallenged and/or unpunished for literally years, and in some cases even decades, even though their crimes were at least widely suspected, or, even worse, were actually definitively known about.

@Lurkio I didn't miss any point...I made a point. My point... that those who participate in the " increasing "deterioration" of morals and behaviours" exist everywhere but are usually ignored by the far right when it's one of there own.

@JudgeDredd OK...here are some more.....
Joshua Duggar (not a pastor but a well known reality show christain "Josh had molested five girls as a teenager. Four of the victims were his own sisters. Josh was also accused of cheating on his wife by paying for sex and being a member of the website Ashley Madison.", Wayne Bent ("aka: Michael Travesser... Founder of Lord Our Righteousness Church, Was convicted of one count of criminal sexual contact of a minor and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor in 2008"), Bill Hybels, (founder Willow Creek Community Church...26,000 attendees every Sunday resigned in digrace.....a history of making unwanted advances to junior church staff members), Pastor Andy Savage ("made headlines...when he admitted to sexually assaulting a woman in 1998. The headlines were because he received a standing ovation from his congregation for his confession, not because justice was served"), Marcus Lamb ("went on live television and admitted to having an affair in his youth, while married to his wife. Of course, despite his indiscretions, his church gathered around him and pledged to "hold him accountable" in the future"), Bishop Eddie Long ("Atlanta-area megachurch... four former congregants accused the pastor of using his position and expensive gifts, such as cars and international trips, to coerce them into sexual acts while they were teens. Long, pictured in 2010, denied the allegations and settled with the young men in 2011"), Michael Sperou ("the 69-year-old leader of the North Clackamas Bible Community...guilty of sexually abusing the former member...when she was a young child....from ages 3 to 10...Six other women also accused Sperou of sexually abusing them when they were children, but Sperou couldn’t be prosecuted in those cases because the statute of limitations has passed").

@RiverTam smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley smiley I applaud your thoroughness, as well as your patience, in researching and compiling this list. You have my gratitude smiley

@JudgeDredd My pleasure

@JudgeDredd This list is a tiny bunch of names comparing of what liberals did or propagated for generations. And yes, I mean exact those things.

+2

@Omenomen I just highlighted some of the more famous ones. Do you think those mentioned are the only ones? Do you? The entire point of my posting(s) is to shine a light on the blatant and stunning hypocrisy but acknowledging hypocrisy requires common sense and at least some level honesty.

Hypocrisy exists everywhere. I once worked with a guy who ranted about Sarah Palin's daughter having a child out of wedlock. He referred to her as a whore and slut. I took offense because my cousin was born out of wedlock. Long story short, he finally admitted that his own sister had a child out of wedlock and his rant was nothing more than political bias which seems to be rampant here.

+4

@RiverTam You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.

+2

@Omenomen Wow...I thought you would quote the old testament...it's more fire and brimstone. Instead you quote Jesus (if he existed) and ironically used the phrase he used to chastise the most orthodox and conservatively religious.

+1

@RiverTam No. You didn't think of anything. And yes, it refers to hypocrites of all kinds.

+2

@Omenomen You're so cute when you try to be funny. Time to eat....have a nice day.

+1

@Omenomen I am sorry, but your counter argument is vague and unsubstantiated. When confronted with a long, specific and substantiated opinion, simply saying it isnt so, doesnt qualify as a valid counterargument.

+2

@JudgeDredd I do not bother you with the things you already know. So, again. I will not mumble the well known story of liberal/democratic racism, their slavery, kkk, segregation and so on. I will ask you one simple question.

You are suspending people here not only for the posting things of certain content, but also for liking the content or supporting those who posted such content. Now, imagine you have power, and it is really up to you... Roman Polanski. Those who supported him after him being prosecuted... What would you do with them?

+3

@Omenomen Lets get one thing straight. I have suspended people for liking posts that were a direct attack to the Administration or the site itself. Think of it as sedition. And I have no reservations in suppressing revolutions through brute force. Its our way or the highway. Because when somebody invites you to their house and you attempt to evict them from it, there is only one possible scenario that will play out....

In regards to Polanski you couldnt have picked a worst example. And that is because Roman not only was convicted but he became a fugitive from the law. That to me is unforgivable and extinguishes any possible mitigating circumstances as it clearly demonstrates no personal assumption of responsibility and certainly no remorse. If I had the power, I would have brought him back in a black bag to a life sentence in hard labor. CIA does this on a daily basis. One more wouldnt hurt anyone.

@JudgeDredd You see, I did not hear any of the people from "the grey area" openly condemning them. We have many Polanskies, so to speak. For example, we have Peter Fonda, who said on Twitter that Baron Trump should be put in a cage with pedophiles. And guess what, he still has his account, nobody said anything against it. We have Maxine Waters who openly called on boycotting Trump supporters. And not only that but on harassing. I did not hear voices condemning her. I did not hear voices condemning Hillary for Benghazi. I did not find much cheer from the left after Weinstein and Epstein arrests. And that is my problem with the left. They do not renounce people who are on the same side of the spectrum after such words or deeds. And River Tam is telling stories about senator's wedlock. Go on. Live in the bubble of the idea of right-wing hypocrisy. It paints your world purple.

+2

@Omenomen If renouncing is your problem with the left, then this is your problem with the right as well. I didnt hear any of you renouncing Trump for his "pu**y grabbing" towards women, for his racist remarks towards the "sh*thole" countries, for actively inciting violence against CNN reporters (and offering to pay for the legal fees), for calling EVERYBODY with an opposing opinion a radical, a communist, an enemy of the people, for making fun of people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, different races. Every time something shocking and stupid comes out of his mouth, every single time you guys find a justification for it. Which means that if you justify his actions, you actually dont see anything wrong there. And this is where the problem is. Claiming moral superiority when at the same time you actively justify immoral behavior, is the definition of hypocrisy.

@JudgeDredd Ok, here it goes.

Trump said for escorts and so called celebrities: "You can do to them whatever you want. You can grab them by the pu**y". Not for women in general. And we know that is true. Those women do everything for money.

Those countries are sh*thole. Mine is also. So, what?

CNN is enemy of the people. They were lying in the times when my country was bombarded as nobody else. They are lying now.

And no, I do not find justification, nor excuse for Trump. And there is where you are painfully wrong. We do not have to justify just, nor find an excuse for what is good. I love when that man calls them commies, I love when calls them fake news, I love when calls them by all the names he does. I f**king love it!

And now, if you can find something I have to renounce, just name it, I would gladly consider your whining.

+1

@Omenomen Well, you are racist, sexist and deluded, but at least you are honest about it.

So if you are as bad (or worse) from the opposition, what exactly are you b**ching about?

+1

@JudgeDredd I think there is a "misunderstanding" here. I've already fallen for it.

Omenomen wants to repel his horns here (sow his wild oats). Usually this is what young men do. They act wildly and rowdily to call for the grown men. Then the time has come for their initiation. They want to be included in the group of men.
There are initiation rites among indigenous people all over the world. They are risky tests of courage, you have to overcome your fear, endure something. Often pain is involved and the young men have to bleed - the older men inflict wounds on them.

These rites mark the entry into adulthood. Unfortunately there is nothing like it in modern societies. If you didn't have a father and you lack positive male role models, you have a serious problem. You may turn to inflated manhood dummies like Trump or become a groupie of the likes of Zedra. They rebel against authorities, mess with the boss and yet only remain half men.

@DonRobusto So well said! smiley Don't forget "Pizza Slice" AKA Zedra.

@𝓜𝓸𝓾𝓼𝓮*🐭 Zedra?? I don't know her.

No seriously, I blocked him. Abracadabra - and he was gone.
Zedra is a lost case.
Karma is after him. And it won't be nice to him. smiley

+1

@DonRobusto That may be the case indeed. I am certainly not an expert. My impression is kinda different. Omen likes to challenge predetermined notions. I am not sure if he believes what he writes at all times, but he certainly wants to play the game. And if an argument is the end goal, he certainly knows how to trigger it.

+1

@JudgeDredd You're right. I think it happens on different levels.
He feels like Don Quixote to me. The more impossible the victory, the greater the fun. He always rubs against the strong ones who can offer him friction.

I came to my conclusion because I often have the feeling that something else is involved. It is not the case with others, they are just malicious. I don't think he's lost yet. smiley
And yes, what he does is challenging. But what starts out with relish ends in disappointment. At some point you get annoyed.

+1

@DonRobusto Nice. I feel like a lobotomy of mine being performed. But there is a little problem here. If there was no mentioning of my name, I would never have guessed it was me you were talking about.

I talk to him, but he gets loud and boisterous. I answer him, he screams even louder - as if in great need - desperately and without support.

The source, please. Where I was screaming in the comment section in the correspondence with you?

+1

@Omenomen You worry about that?

I would be more concerned about my personal development.
I would use my energy on that.
Instead of hanging around here and biting the good people in the calves.
I've seen a lot of goodwill for you here. You had no appreciation for it. Instead you just barked louder.
Find the comments yourself. That would take me hours. It's the conversations where people suddenly cut off contact.

Bloat doesn't make you big. Humility would be a first step.
You have already discovered spirituality for yourself.

As you can see, I followed your "career" with interest. smiley

@JudgeDredd Rhetorical question, really. Sounded a lot like a personal attack to me.

@Bread&Circuses Not at all. There is an admission of guilt at play here:

"Trump said for escorts and so called celebrities: "You can do to them whatever you want. You can grab them by the pu**y". Not for women in general. And we know that is true. Those women do everything for money." = SEXISM

"Those countries are sh*thole. Mine is also. So, what?" = RACISM

"CNN is enemy of the people. They were lying in the times when my country was bombarded as nobody else. They are lying now." = DELUSION

"We do not have to justify just, nor find an excuse for what is good. I love when that man calls them commies, I love when calls them fake news, I love when calls them by all the names he does. I f**king love it!" = THAT'S THE EQUAL OR WORSE TO THE OPPOSITION
