Antifa Rioters Attack ‘Jews For Trump’ Convoy in New York City, Hurl Objects At Vehiclesredstate.com/jeffc/2020/10/26/ant...
Far-left extremists seem to be escalating their efforts to prevent conservative Americans from expressing their political views. In many cases, operatives in the Antifa movement are using violence to suppress right-leaning voices in multiple states. In this case, radical leftists physically attacked individuals participating in a “Jews For Trump” convoy in New York City on Sunday.
Hundreds of vehicles emblazoned with pro-Trump paraphernalia drove slowly from Coney Island to Trump Tower in Manhattan. From there, it continued to a rally at a park in Brooklyn. But along the way, radical leftists attacked the cars, blocking their movement, throwing objects, and physically assaulting participants.
The New York Times reported that, “according to the police, the pro-Trump caravan passed through Times Square, where it converged with a group of anti-Trump protesters who had marched from Brooklyn.” The Times continued, “The cars in the convoy were then blocked by counter-protesters, and some drivers got out of their cars to confront the anti-Trump demonstrators.”
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani participated in the rally and stated that violent Antifa operatives attacked his car. He suggested that the incident represents the America that voters will choose in November’s election.
“I would love to have had a campaign commercial of it and put it on in the middle of America and say, ‘Who would you prefer for the next four years?’” he remarked. “This group of foul-mouthed people who don’t seem to have a vocabulary beyond three words, or these very nice Jewish people who are driving in the car and not saying anything back and not doing anything other than exercising their right to say they’re for Donald Trump.”
Several instances of violence during the convoy were shown in footage taken that day. Here are some examples.
In one particularly egregious case, violent left-wing extremists targeted a family of seven as they drove in the convoy. A member of the family told Fox News that a car pulled up next to them and began spraying pepper spray into their vehicle, which also contained children. “Immediately the kids started crying and screaming and I jumped out of the car after I was peppered [sic] sprayed as well,” the man, who chose to remain anonymous, said.
According to the New York Police Department, 11 people were arrested and six were charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of government administration, and harassment. A seventh person was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.
While these radical extremists do not represent the majority of the left, the Antifa movement seems to be growing. Even worse, they have engaged in more political violence this year than any in recent memory. Using the death of George Floyd, and the protests that followed, these groups have engaged in all kinds of thuggery, even murdering a man in Portland, OR just for being a Trump supporter.
Unfortunately, in cities like Portland and Seattle, the local government does not seem willing to put a stop to the violence. In these areas, law enforcement is simply not allowed to do its job, which means that the radical left has become more emboldened. The question is, how far will they have to go before people decide that enough is enough?
