Golf developers, among others, had been pushing for the move.

By Bess Levin

“Pretty much nothing has been done,” Thunberg said at a World Economic Forum (WEF) panel convened in Davos, Switzerland. “Global emissions of CO2 has not been reduced and that is what we are trying to achieve.”

Staring down a Senate impeachment trial, President Trump absconded to Switzerland on Tuesday to address the World Economic Forum in Davos, the remote ski town where the world’s elite congregate annually to discuss the issues plaguing the global community. No issue is of more pressing concern at the 2020 edition of the forum than the climate crisis, but not only did Trump fail to address it seriously, he also bashed climate activists as “perennial prophets of doom” and “heirs of yesterday’s foolish fortune tellers.”

Trump Bashes Climate Activists at World Economic Forum in Davos - Rolling Stone

The World Economic Forum is set in the picturesque Swiss town of Davos, nestled in the Alps. But the first thing you smell is not the crisp cool mountain air but the noxious fumes of an endless stream of belching black Mercedes driving the plutocrats to their appointed places to discuss inequality amid a badge-access-system that is about as egalitarian as the ancient Indian caste system.

Australian police investigating the bushfires have arrested more than 180 alleged arsonists since the start of 2019. But apparently they forgot to send the memo to Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, both of whom insisted in their Golden Globes acceptance speeches that the Australian bushfires were in fact caused by ‘climate change.’

Around 250 Germans on Saturday protested in the outskirts of Berlin where electric car startup Tesla is planning to build a gigafactory, saying its construction will endanger water supply and wildlife in the area.

There certainly hasn’t been a lack of seismic activity so far in 2020.  Just a few days ago, I wrote about the horrific earthquake swarm that Puerto Rico is currently experiencing.  More than 1,000 earthquakes have rattled Puerto Rico so far, and as you will see below, it was just hit by another very large earthquake.  But …

California's Kern County, home to the city of Bakersfield, bills itself as the “Wind Capital of the West.” But a Washington Post analysis of a massive new U.S. Geological Survey database of over 57,000 commercial wind turbines suggests that the county is being overly modest: It is, in fact, the wind capital of the entire country.

United States and Germany relative size comparison. View both areas on a map to show their proportionate size. United States is about 28 times bigger than Germany.

The answer, my friend, is far more than we are being told.ost cost estimates for wind power disregard the heavy burden of these subsidies on US taxpayers. But if Americans realized the full cost of generating energy from wind power, they would be less willing to foot the bill – because it's more than most people think.
